Save Me 05:17
I've become numb to the violence I've felt it build up and wash over me I've become used to the silence I've seen the effect of hypocrisy And I, I knew that nothing would matter And then it starts making sense Your way of thinking will shatter Make way for a new world order The streets in the cities are all overrun They battle for the power of what they become In the last hour their fall has begun The oppressed are becoming oppressors Push out the boat and see how they come Once you find out they've already won The last time this happened it was over and done History will repeat itself Take me from this world Take me far from here All that you have tried to be And everything you've learned Will stand for nothing Save me from myself I've had a life changing feeling I've made my world just to fall apart And I, I'm in the process of healing All it does is make me stronger Don't you ever wonder why It had to be A lie so sweet I would never know

All For You 05:11
With fishes to sell, you're a king to a few And you won’t see until you open your double-glazed dollar shaped eyes I’ve nothing to sell, no money to buy You could give me a break So why rub it in my face Taking all I’ve got Leaving nothing in its place You whore! Gaining all I lose So many others suffer this… FATE! WILL! BRING! YOU DOWN! So far, so far from being the truth It was so hard, but I thought you’d help me through My own sacrifice, and you always knew A cynical device that you put me through I did this all for you! I did this all for you! So little thought in screwing everybody else It’s easy as breathing Bleeding us, sucking us dry Never telling me why As long as you’re high! I never thought you’d drop this low. FATE! WILL! BRING! YOU DOWN! So far, so far from being the truth It was so hard, but I thought you’d help me through My own sacrifice, and you always knew You try to deny it but you know it’s true I did this all for you! Seeing you just to witness Smooth talking bastard got a weakness It’s only going to make us hate you more! Show yourself, give us reason Let us know you’ve got something to believe in Stop selling out, you coward Till then we’ll have a revolution And if we always lose to those who have a greater power as long as we will never be like you! So far, so far from being the truth It was so hard, but I thought you’d help me through After all that I’ve been through I did this all for you! I did this all for you! I did this all for you!

You looked up to me and everyone could see The seeds had been planted you were no longer free A year ago today you could have found yourself a way To avoid all this pointless misery Day in and day out It’s like a second life that’s not worth living Bringing you down Facing your own doubt Your lack of self confidence is showing Turning you round For each door you unlock I wish I could turn back the clock The sooner you find, out the lesser the shock I wish you could see what this has done to me The same thing will happen finally Listen to me carefully Trust nobody else Just do what I say Believe in me just this once ‘Cause I’m deeper than you I’m In Deeper than you You know there’s something wrong You know I can help you through I see myself in you, searching for something new Your demons have robbed you for what you pursue Your old happiness will quickly fade away Your dreams and your memories, the things that you say

Alkaline 05:46
Suck it with a bitter taste of spite Fear it like a stick of dynamite Use it when you think the time is right Don’t you lose your sight Manipulate the ones that pull the strings Persuade the people changing things Find the weakness, the spot that stings Don’t you realise? I am alkaline! You will never win, you’re obvious To people’s thoughts, you’re oblivious No one trusts you ‘cause you’re dangerous Don’t you think of this? Attacking first and later pay the price You’ll come off worse until you realise If I were you, I’d fear reprise Don’t you realise? I am alkaline! No one will know! The reaction is slow! You do it to yourself and no one’s here to help to your acid approach I am alkaline! I am anodyne! Black or white there’s no compromise, I was right, so try that for size It’s a fact that no one denies That I will see this through This battle is nothing new I’ll make sure the end is due I exist to stop you Don’t you realise? I am alkaline!

These thoughts won’t leave my mind, within it I’ve been through this before, no limit See my jaded view on life It’s taken me over now! You said that I was bright, forget it These eyes have seen the light, so vivid Days pass without me noticing But I don’t even care! Someone told me that I could do it Deep down, in my mind, I knew it Why did I throw it all away? Nobody gives a damn! That’s right don’t even argue with it We all feel we’re the centre of it No one cares as much as you Better get used to it! My fall from grace is over I have reached a new low The ground beneath me falling Spending a lifetime with no answer Don’t bother talking to me now You smile, I can’t remember how I am not the one you knew You’re looking at someone else! This time I’ve Got nowhere to go This time I’ve got nothing to show Facing my own enemy Today you’re going down!

Too late, to be affected Can't face, to be rejected Your ideology, seems defective But with your friends, you feel protected They follow you round, They hang on every word you say The peace which I found Is lost with every passing day It's safety in numbers, who cares if you're wrong? It's safety in numbers, am I the only one... Who breaks the mould and fights you? Who bucks the trend and slights you? Destroys his life to spite you? Anything to stop you taking... Control. Truth hurts, but it's effective No right, it's all subjective Your pious point of view seems infective But it's good for you from your perspective They take pride in ignorance Together you're strong You'll think they're obedient But they're playing along It's safety in numbers, who cares if you're wrong? It's safety in numbers, am I the only one... Who breaks the mould and fights you? Who bucks the trend and slights you? Destroys his life to spite you? Anything to stop you taking... Control. Some of them will play obedient Human in nature to be expedient Far cry from how you wanted it And I'm the only one... Who breaks the mould and fights you! Who bucks the trend and slights you! Destroys his life to spite you! Anything to stop you taking... Control!

No Cause 04:40
Killing time and failing to appreciate the finer points in life, Wishing it all away in search of riches I can borrow over night ‘Cause I’m feeling pressure Losing composure Sealing the fate and my future ‘Cause I’m sensing the danger Predicting my failure No way to see where I’ve gone wrong Time and time again I feel like I’ve been trying to find a new way out It’s starting to fall apart and all the hopes I had are now replaced with doubt ‘Cause I’m feeling pressure Losing composure Sealing the fate and my future ‘Cause I’m sensing the danger Predicting my failure No way to see where I’ve gone wrong ‘Cause I’m going through the motions I don’t feel it anymore It’s hard to start a new life When you’ve done it all before There were times when I felt There were things worth fighting for Going through the motions with no cause Trapped inside my prison cell I’m starting to regress and lose my mind If only I had a way to start all over I would leave it all behind ‘Cause I’m feeling pressure Losing composure Sealing the fate and my future ‘Cause I’m sensing the danger Predicting my failure No way to see where I’ve gone wrong ‘Cause I’m going through the motions I don’t feel it anymore It’s hard to start a new life When you’ve done it all before There were times when I felt There were things worth fighting for Going through the motions with no cause

Dangerously, close to being the one who takes the fall Betraying me, ungraciously, in time I’ll get you all! You stitch me up, because if I could hurt you The rest of them, will never pull through Take the one down and the rest will fall They look away, they hesitate, I face this on my own My allies stray, to weak to stay, I walk this path alone A sacrifice, somebody’s got to go down You pay the price, so the others won’t drown Take the one down and the rest will fall FEED YOUR FAILURE! As trust decays, and cards are played, you know I’m sure they’ll find a way So when? When will you decide? Where to draw the line? How will you trust anybody’s answers? Why do you believe their lies? Reek disruption, exploit corruption Use your function, internal destruction FEED YOUR FAILURE! As trust decays, and cards are played, you know I’m sure they’ll find a way So when? When will you decide? Where to draw the line? How will you trust anybody’s answers? Why do you believe their lies?

Your World 04:37
Your own limitations save the day You never knew that belief would fade away And for the first time the fall of everything you’ve ever known And your only saving grace is your weakness And the fault with being so high: It’s so lonely So lonely You’re only You’re only another mouth to feed another bleeder The deterioration of a world in which your word was greater than its worth Brings us new times, your control of everyone will be turned right back on you ‘Cos you’re breathing, feeling, seeing one after another bleeding All because of you, because of you Perhaps now you realise: So lonely in your world if only your voice was heard Now we know you’re stripped of all your worthless veneer Held below by the faceless masses fighting the oncoming flow So lonely in your world, if only your voice was heard So lonely in your world your silence will mean a thousand words So you call and no-one hears as you’re forsaken You slip and fall If I held my hand out you would take it If you could change the failings of your past (so lonely) Avoiding the pain you caused to them, would you? (In your world) Stopping your fate, your fall from grace (suck it) (so lonely) The chance will never be available – in your world

Life! Don't look at me, it's a discrace, it's a catastrophe! And I fear it, I fear it, I fear it, I fear it The beliefs, the power, the hollow, the shallow, HATE! And the selfish views of the organised don't concern the wretched For which I don't care, you don't care, nobody cares for the... Forgotten Satisfy, satisfy yourself Gratify, gratify yourself You bleed, you heal, you live, you feel But for the numb, the meek, the worthless and the weak Despair, It's fair You don't care, I don't care, nobody cares for the... Forgotten Satisfy, satisfy yourself Gratify, gratify yourself Always drowned by the messenger's hypocrisy Lies, justified by the endless choking bureaucracy And it fuels itself Stop breathing and breeding you fools!

about

Aphemia is an industrial/electronic, progressive rock band, combining influences such as Nine Inch Nails, Celldweller, Disturbed and Muse all wrapped up in a sonic-assault production style akin to Devin Townsend at his finest.

Based in Derby UK, Aphemia has built a strong reputation for delivering powerful live performances. Heavy guitar grooves and synth leads punch their way through the soundstage created by dark ethereal pads and rhythmic patterns that infuse with pounding drum beats to relentlessly drive the music forwards. Aggressive, rhythmic vocal lines punctuate the verses and morph effortlessly into memorably melodic choruses that stay long in the mind.

‘Aphemia’ is a disorder (also known as ‘aphasia’) where people suffer an impairment in language ability, often as the result of some kind of trauma. The affliction makes it difficult for individuals to communicate clearly in spoken form, but they will often find it easier to sing rather than speak. Thus, the meaning of the band name, Aphemia, translates into the meaning behind much of the band’s music. Lyrically, the songs are about vocalising the difficulties and hypocrisies of life; sentiments that will reach out to anyone who listens. Conveying both anger and sometimes acceptance, there's a point to each song that transcends trends, fad-politics or short-sighted views.

Soundscape Magazine - BritRockArmy 'The Uprising' CD review

"As soon as the introduction for Save Me by Aphemia kicked in, I instantaneously knew that this one was going to be my favourite track of the [compliation] album. Sometimes when you hear the first few notes of a song, you just get a feeling you’re going to love it and this was definitely the case with this one. Everything about this song is utter brilliance – the instrumentation is a perfect mix of electronic and rock, and the vocals fit the band incredibly well. I cannot sing the praises of this band enough and I will surely be checking them out over the next few days – something I recommend everyone reading this review to do!

Sandman Magazine - Gig review - Junktion 7 - Nottingham

“Certain bands you just know are going to be good before they even sing a note or play a chord and the last band of the night Aphemia certainly delivered. They were professional, passionate and most of all determined, they played with a hunger that none of the other bands displayed.”

Saggy Pants - Gig review

"Aphemia mix huge catchy metal riffs with an industrial edge and are a band full of power. Tonight their set starts with an awesome burst of power and the drummer goes nuts as the huge, epic keyboards come in and the beefy and catchy guitar riffs and vocal patterns break through. The drummer and bassist are really tight and provide the backbone to the band and with the keyboard adding a mass of depth and atmosphere they really build a sound scape of noise. The guitar riffs are very catchy and have almost a nu-metal feel with Papa Roach mixed in with a heavier industrial (Pitchshifter?) edge. The vocals patterns are catchy and interesting and each song has a powerful and diverse edge. The music does the talking and this band are tight and powerful with catchy and dynamic songs and a beef and kick that ends the evening on a high.

Saggy-Pants.com - Safety In Number promo CD review

“A musical display of excellence”
“With interesting melodies and vocal patterns as well as a mix of influence there is no doubt Aphemia are original and different. They are also energetic and atmospheric… I would recommend you check them out for yourself”
